Please read AQUATIP 1 first. Adding acid to a pool is a hot topic for me. I discovered about a month after my new salt system was turned on just how critical adding acid is for a salt system to do its job. I also discovered you have to add more acid than you thought you would to a swimming pool. The top picture to the left shows acid being poured into the pool away from your body. This is to avoid acid splashing on your skin.
It is best to keep all of your skin and eyes covered when pouring acid. I know, I had a drop splash in my eye and learned the hard way to be careful. I washed my eye out quickly so nothing lasting, however it was a bit scary. Another idea is a dry powder pH adjuster. With this method, simply pour the powder into a bucket, add water and pour in the pool. This seems much safer.
